Nigeria issues alert on illegal kidney trafficking in Egypt

The Nigerian government has called the attention of medical doctors in the country to the booming human kidney trafficking market in Egypt.

In a letter sent to the President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) a copy of which was made available to HealthNewsNG.com, the federal ministry of health said there is increase in illegal harvesting and transplanting of human organs in Egypt.

The government said Nigerians should be ‘circumspect while embarking on medical tourism in other countries’.
