The Ooni of Ife joined the Health Minister & other leaders to launch the new FP logo in Abuja

The help achieve the 36% contraceptive prevalence rate and other commitments made at the Family Planning Summit in London, the Federal Ministry of Health has launched a new logo and communication plan to promote family planning in Nigeria. The logo was launched during the 5th Family Planning consultative stakeholders meeting held in Abuja from 11th to 13th of September, 2017 and in attendance few commissioners of health, state Family Planning coordinators, religious and traditional leaders and young people from across the country.

In his remarks, the Ooni of Ife said the fact that hundreds of women die during childbirth should be considered a national disaster and concerted efforts must be put in place to prevent it. “No woman should die giving life”. he said.

Following the national launch, states are expected to proceed with their launch to increase awareness about family planning services and benefits in their states.
